Biography:
Abhishek Bachchan is the son of superstars Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. But despite coming from such an illustrous filmi family success in Bollywood didn't come easy for the Abhishek. He made a debut with Kareena Kapoor in JP Dutta's moderately average Refugee in 2000. But thereafter success seemed miles away as the actor suffered with a series of flops till Mani Ratnam came knocking at his door.
 Further more, It wasn't easy when popular actress girlfriend Karisma Kapoor broke her engagement with him and married a Delhi-based businessman instead. Again, Abhishek seemed to placidly take it in his stride. A peek into what makes this man tick.
Dhoom is the great popular movie which doesn't need and reference. But some people knows this that Abhishek has hurt himself quite badly during the shooting of Dhoom - a sprained ankle and a raw nose - but he's taking it like the man he is. He hasn't stopped doing action films either. He said that he gave his best for the film and hopes that the film will make a difference to his career, and he was absolutely right about it.
Abhishek next release was Run and Yuva, too, have him playing action-oriented roles. Looks like Bollywood can look forward to a new angry young man soon. He admits that, all along, he has been secretly longing to do action-oriented roles. As a kid, he spent his time watching dad Amitabh Bachchan beat the villains to pulp in films like Sholay, Zanjeer and many others. So he concludes it's not surprising that he grew up wanting to do the same thing on screen too.
Revathi's Phir Milenge is an exception. In this film, he plays a lawyer fighting for a cause. And he had no problems working for a woman.  He had a great schedule with his first woman director. He felt very special and Revathi ensured that he was well taken care of during the schedule. Otherwise, all his films are action films. The kind of projects he is doing are very impressive. For starters, he has Ram Gopal Varma's Naach and Mani Ratnam's Yuva. Abhishek grins when you mention this to him - yes, he's having fun all right.
Is it a case of all work and no play? No way. Abhishek is having a ball as a single again. He's always seen with a bunch of beautiful people and is linked with all the women he is seen with. The gentleman admits that Abhishek is more worried for the reputation of those women than for his. All of them are his friends and have lives of their own. He wonders why the press wrongly links them with him. Is it wrong to have female friends, he wonders.
On his future, Abhishek is optimistically waiting for that one elusive hit that will catapult him to stardom in Bollywood. We are too.
